The Ovation Music Festival is excited to be welcoming Canada’s International pop sensation, Nelly Furtado to headline the Friday, 8th September performance in Stratford, Ontario as part of it’s three-day weekend of Canadian music.
Her new CD Loose debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart and the Canadian and U.S. Nielsen SoundScan charts. Her single “Promiscuous” is competing for No. 1 spot in Canada and the U.S. for the past month while yet another single, “Maneater” is No. 1 in the U.K.
Furtado came to fame in 2000 with the release of her debut album “Whoa, Nelly!,” selling over 6 million copies worldwide, it featured the Grammy Award-winning single “I’m Like a Bird” and “Turn off the Light”. In 2003 Furtado released her sophomore album “Folklore” and although it was not as successful as “Whoa, Nelly!,” it still managed to hit platinum in 2 countries and gold in over 5 other countries, including USA, UK and The Netherlands.

I love this web site on Nelly Furtado, it\’s the most complete one I ever seen. But recently I saw you didn\’t put any info on Nelly since 6th august. Why? Holiday???
Well Nelly was going to a lot of things, she won 3 awards at the Teen Choice Awards on 20th august and performed \”Promiscuous\” with Timberland. She was nominated at the 2006 MTV VMA but didn\’t won any awards and didn\’t perform. She realsed a second single (after Maneater) in Europe on 4th september that is \”Promiscucous\”.
