Songs you changed your opinion about

Untill last night 'Build You Up' was my least favourite song from Folklore. I always thought it sounded corny and outdated. Never thought the lyrics were that good either...

But like I said, it was untill last night. Something bad happened to me and I decided to listen some slow songs and I suddenly saw myself crying for a Nelly Furtado song (it had happened only once before, with All Good Things)! It was like she was here by my side singing the song for me.. I really felt the lyrics and the melody. I know it sounds silly, but its true. I think it was the first time I could really relate myself to one of her songs and its now a favourite for me.

I've also changed my opinion about Maneater.. when it first came out I thought it was her worst song by miles and I now think its a classic from Pop Music.

Something similar happened to me with Build You Up too. Back when I was getting to know Folklore it was the song I listend to the least. I don't know why, but it just didn't engage me as much as the others. I think it was because it was near the final part of the album and it made it kinda sad and solemn. But as I started listening to it more carefully I started liking it more and more. There is something about it that is very ethereal, maybe even a little haunting, although maybe that's too strong a word for it. What really made me pay attention to it was our discussion about in the lyrics thread, which made me have an even deeper appreciation for it.

I know I've changed my mind about a number of songs, but now I love them all so much that I can't remember clearly. I used to dislike I Will Make U Cry and Well, Well, I think.

And when I first listened to Undercover I though it was a Nelly version of a Britney Spears song and I was nauseated. But it very quickly grew on me and now it's one of my favorites from Loose. It always reminds me of Toxic though, for some reason... yuck.

No Hay Igual slowly, very slowly won me over. I thought it was appalling in the early days but now I think it's fun.

The same happen here with build u up before it happen to me and change my hola idea about the song and has italo say

U feel that nelly is talking to u that she know u she know ur problems and =O u realise that her songs can help a lot of ppl and change maybe some parts of u that need to fix or just need a reajust

And used to dislike Legend until i met a great person xD and realize that "i never be his only one " then i play "All the good things" and i know that i need to go on and get over it

So some songs are really helpful and no person has done for me just the nelly's songs so that' i love her cuz i feel that i'm in a debt with her by helping me

i wasn't sure about scared of you at first but after a while it grew on me,
picture perfect was one that i liked but didn't really listen to much then after a while i was listening to it and realised how awsome it is.. now i love it
i didn't really like island of wonder much when i first listened to it
Let my hair down i thought was really wierd, but i kinda like it now

well i feel the same way Italo. when i have problems with friends
or school or my family && i am so mad i just listen to her
folklore cd. i have always loved her music.
all the songs i have heard from her cd's are beautiful.
but that song build you up was my most favorite from Folklore
everytime when i was sad i would listen to that song &&
she would make me feel better. i wouldn't blame
you if you think its crazy..i just feel that she is
always there for me && always sings a song to me.
that's why i love her. i think without her music..
i wouldn't be here right now.

the same thing happened to me with Baby Girl i cudnt stand the "ching ching" part. but some time after Folklore came out i listened to it again and i heard over the "ching ching" and now i like the whole song!
though i hope the same thing happens to me with Let My Hair Down. cuz at the moment i dont like it

OMG yeah let my hair down it thougt that was the worst song of nelly but now it's ok but is not of the better one that she got ;(

actually i think Let My Hair Down its one of the worst Nelly's songs, i mean its like so monotonous and idk its weird...it doesnt has sense at all..
and i cant stand the crazy cover, i think its like too slow and boring..

and well theres like 3 song ive changed my mind about them but i have to go now i cant write anymore haha

yeah "Build You Up" is a classic song that touches you the most
also "The Grass Is Green" is one of those
I've changed my opinion about "Somebody To Love" at first i didn't pay attention but after listening to it, suddenly i felt in love with the piano sound xD

Well, seems that most of people here didn't like Build You Up in the beginning, but it has been one of my favourite right away. I don't like Let My Hair Down and I don't think it will ever grow on me, but you never know...

When I first listened to Folklore I din't pay attention to One Trick Poney. It's not that I didn't like the song, it's just that it didn't mean anything at first, but after some days I started to like it more and now it's definitely among my favourite songs ever
