is anyone else into the streets? the new album is superb it's even got a ballad on it called 'dry your eyes' which is v nice indeed.
when I go on a nite out I always revert to speaking in streets lyrics after a few drinks,
such as:

'around here we say birds, not bitches'
'we first met through a shared view, she loved me and I did too'
'yes yes you are fit and yeah I do want it but I'll stop sharking a minute to get chips and drinks'
'now gettin to the bar's gonna be trouble, so the Marlon's will have to be doubles, then you drink doubles the same speed you drink singles'

oh and 'dry your eyes mate, I know it's hard to take but her mind has been made up', that's a sad one.

amongst many others, and now I've got a whole new albums worth to annoy my mates with!

To a degree- I grabbed a few of their tracks off iTunes in the past, including Same old Thing (which is why I spotted this thread title so readily). Eventually I'll probably buy that whole album. Only track I have not from that one is an instrumental from...I can't recall the title of the album now.

Oh, I'm sorry but, I cannot stand The Streets, well, what I've heard hasn't done a lot to endear them to me, the guy just talks, I mean, I could do that! Then again, I haven't heard much by them, does he actually ever sing or anything?

I haven't heard that line, but then I haven't heard all of the album yet. Most of what I heard I understood ok. Lotsa Englishisms that weren't too obscure.

I heard one track not long ago...it was some free download somewhere...really a wacky song that he did. Not at all like his typical rap stuff. I wouldn't call him a great singer no, but the typical Streets stuff I heard is pretty decent (which is usually him rapping). The beats & overall attitude and all that are what sold me. I'm not the best authority on them, since I only have a few songs, but I'm only pointing out what me likes, dig.

Edit: Oh! I dunno who exactly is in the group or however many people play a part in it, but ya there is a guy that sings chorus sections. Triple J will have to dish all this out, again, I'm not Streets head here.

All I know is I've heard some song that sings about original pirate material or something and it was surely the most horrid sound I've ever heard.

yeah, it's just him in the band really mike skinner, but he has loads of singers guesting on the songs. theres quite a few slower songs with singing in, but if you've just heard the singles you wouldnt know it. check out 'dry your eyes', 'could well be in', 'too late' and 'stay positive', they are good more mellow ones. and 'the irony of it all' is v funny.

'I saw this thing on itv the other week,
said if she plays with her hair she's probably keen,
she's playin with her hair well regularly,
so I reckon I could well be in'
